I’m fighting off a flu this week. To make matters worse, the Internet is broken here at home this week too. Using my phone as a wireless hotspot modem is getting expensive so I’m not going to be posting anything this Sunday. We’re expecting technicians on Monday so if all goes well, I might have something to report once the weekend is over – assuming I’m well enough to sit up at a computer for any non-trivial length of time. Which currently I’m not. Sucks.

Rocko’s Modern Life is dutifully keeping me company on my sick bed. I was in highschool during the Renaissance Age of Animation but missed a lot of it for lack of subscription TV; Rocko is a show I’ve been looking forward to catching up on for ages. I like it a lot. The influences of subversive underground cartoons, Clampett/Avery’s Looney Tunes and even its contemporaries like Ren and Stimpy are all plain to see there. Bit sad that they cut some of the racier stuff out for the USA release – the limited edition German deluxe box set restores most of the cuts but it’s 75 euros plus postage. Not cheap.

Anyway, I’m going back to watching cartoon wobblybees with patchy Australian accents and feeling ill. Don’t have too much fun without me.
