Kathryn Marshall’s Triveni was part of the Punto Y Raya abstract film showcase. The showcase started with a series of mostly sedate computer-rendered abstract pieces with clicky-pop electro-acoustic sound, all very reserved… and then suddenly we got hit with this explosion of colour and energy set to a rocking Spanish guitar tune by Gabriela Y

In the tradition of Len Lye and Norman McLaren, Triveni didn’t use a camera – the images were either painted directly onto a strip of 16mm film or scratched out of the leader.
