This is not a quoll but it is from Australia. It is a little pied cormorant. It is an Australian darter. (Thanks to the ever-watchful Vintar for the correction.)

It does not want a hug. It’s drying its wings. If you hug it, you will get wet. And possibly pecked – lest you forget, birds have knives for faces.
