A moment in the sun Journals

That was 26 June to 2 July 2016 – and I’ve voted and eaten my democracy sausage. Let’s do this!

This week I continued my quick midyear break from working on A moment in the sun. I did however put the layout in front of a few new people, tweaked Gronky’s materials a bit and looked at colour management.

Colour management doesn’t become relevant until surfacing and lighting. All of that is months away at the absolute earliest. But even with just preliminary surfaces and lights, the difference between the sRGB render up the top and the colour managed render underneath it is pretty staggering. sRGB looks blown out and foggy by comparison.

I don’t know enough about colour management to be dangerous yet but anyone who’s interested should definitely read this fantastic Blender Stackexchange answer about it.

Last week I said I’d run through my development process – and I will! Once I’ve put something together, I’ll link to it here. 🙂

See you next week!
