This is not a quoll but it is a marsupial. It is a rufous bettong joey. When i was photographing this little guy, nobody knew what he was because he wasn’t a kangaroo, a koala, a possum or any other well-known Australian animal. Showing these lesser-known Australian animals to the world is the reason this site exists.

These are not quolls, but they are marsupials. They are rufous bettongs, a potoroid marsupial from eastern Australia. They are able to curl their tail and carry things with  it when they’re not sleeping in sunbeams and being cute.
