This week I took all the feedback I got from the pitch sessions and banged out another outline. There’s space in the outline for gags where Pointy tries to take shelter under some sort of portable shady object retrieved from the desert by Gronky so that he doesn’t pass out… and then something goes wrong. The story is done aside from the specific gags in the middle of the film.

This week’s image is one of the rejected gags. It’s rejected because considering how (un)funny it is, it’s not worth the effort to actually include it. I have many more not-quite-up-to-scratch gags like it, but they’re quick to write so there’s no harm having a lot of them in the bank. 🙂

So. No need to wait for all the gags to be written. I need to do some animation test anyway so it’s time again to make something that moves!

I have started taking one of the better gags through the production pipeline. In pre-production, I flesh out sound effects, music and props from the rough story comic. I’d talk more about the stuff I’m concepting, but it’s spoilery so I won’t yet. 🙂
