This is not a quoll but it is a dasyurid. It is a crest-tailed mulgara. Or maybe it’s a brush-tailed mulgara. The sign at the zoo and their website are not in agreement.

Like many dasyurids whose names don’t rhyme with Smasmanian smevil or smotted-smailed smoll, it is somewhat mouse-like. This leads to a never-ending parade of people going through the Nocturnal House pointing at dunnarts, dibblers, phascogales and mulgaras going “Oh look, it’s a mouse/rat." This would be the equivalent of me pointing at a swan and saying "Oh look, it’s a duck.”
